Shadowlands Patch 9.1: What We Got Right & What’s Coming Instead

So… we made some predictions about patch 9.1. While we got more right than wrong, it seems, there was a couple areas we completely missed the mark on. Read on to see what we got right, what we got wrong, what’s still unknown and our thoughts on 9.1 release date now.

The Right

  • We predicted Kel’Thuzad in the new raid.
  • No Tier Sets
  • Torghast Expanion/Rework
  • No New Big Systems
  • No Second Legendary Equip

The Wrong

  • The Release Date – Way Off
  • We ARE going to fight Sylvanas
  • Not Maldraxxus Related Raid

The Unknown

  • Arthas – He could be in the patch as a secret reveal, or a card held for later.
  • The Release Date – We Still don’t know when this is going to be. So, it’s both wrong and unknown.

New Predictions

At this point, I don’t really have a clue for the date of the new patch. We’re already wildly off anything we’ve had before. It’s realistically at least 3 months out given that it hasn’t even hit the PTR yet, but at this point, Blizz might do anything. I’d guess June or July, so we can get one more patch in this year… but, maybe not?

So, we did okay with the predictions about 9.1, but mostly just regarding the things that we won’t be getting. The new zone, Korthia, is (literally) getting pulled out of nowhere, but I genuinely didn’t expect we’d raid Torghast this soon. Does seem like maybe the Jailer (and Sylvanas) won’t be the only big bad of the expansion.
