I’ve been doing some thinking, some pondering, some soul-searching over the plot line of the new expansion… and I really don’t think I like what I know so far. In previous expansions, we fought incredibly powerful and epic enemies. In BC, we fought Illidan who was a massively powerful mage who dedicated his life to power and combat, was granted extra power by demons. He was the first of his kind – a demon hunter and was thousands of years old. We may or may not have been prepared. In WolLK, Arthas was a Paladin, who was effectively merged with a Shaman/Warlock, infused with demon power, given amazing gear and had the power over death. Come on. In Cataclysm, Deathwing was the freakin’ aspect of earth granted power by the titans and corrupted (and possibly empowered further) by old gods. In MoP… we got an orc who only a few years before was basically mopey kid in Outlands who couldn’t have fought off the average basic campfire. While the enemy in Warlords doesn’t seem to be quite as insignificant as Garrosh, I don’t expect the epicness of previous expansions. There will be spoilers below, continue at your own risk. Also, check out the end of the post for the Warlords trailer. (more…)

My Transmog: Hunter Edition
It seems like hunters, and mail users in general, have a great selection of amazing tier sets and re-colors to choose from. Here are a few of mine. While I’m not using it. I collected the season 4 PVP set (pictured above). It’s just dark and awesome and goes well with, well I describe the bow later on. (more…)
Realms Down Again?
About 4:50PM PST, a host of realms has gone down, yet again. What is with this recent server instability? This has easily reached 10+ occasions in the past two months. Supposedly, one or two times was DDOS attacks by some hacker group, but the rest? Server outages is something I’d expect, maybe, from a F2P kind of game, the kind without regular, massive, monthly income to keep up on server maintenance and whatever it takes to keep everything online. It’s becoming excessive. One two different occasions my PVP guild lost multiple rated battlegrounds as a result of servers dropping. A couple times, immediately upon loading into the RBG the servers crashed for 1+ hours making them effectively forfeit. Another, which I was actually in, we had a massive lead with the game more than half over before we dropped. In all occasions, the loss resulted in a loss of rating. Some people that were most affected put in tickets about this, at least trying to get the loss of rating and statistics reversed, but Blizzard could not be bothered. (more…)
Warlords of Draenor: Garrisons
One of the biggest and most anticipated features coming in the next WoW expansion, Warlords of Draenor, is the Garrison. I want to take a moment to discuss what we do know about the Garrisons, what we don’t know, and to make a plea to Blizzard about their design direction for this (at the end of this post).
The Basics
Garrisons are essentially player housing (which I probably said at some point wouldn’t happen), but are filled with awesome that gives them a purpose far beyond a place to park your character in private. Blizzard has this to say about them: (more…)
Got Wrecking Ball!
Here’s a video of me getting the Wrecking Ball achievement on my 90 hunter. I cut out some of the slow parts from the battle ground and mixed it with some (hopefully legally used) music. I’ve gotten this once or twice on old characters before, but it’s still fun to see, particularly at max level. Check it out! Also, follow my youtube, cause.., why not? It doesn’t bite.
Shared Topic: Top 5 Mounts
This weeks shared topic from Blog Azeroth is on our favorite (and least favorite) mounts. The original topic post, brought to you by Azerothian Life, can be found here.
For my favorites, I decided on a pair of ground mounts and a trio of fliers. Given the diversity of flying limited areas, grounders definitely have their place. First: The Rusted Proto Drake. Now, I’m a fan of proto drakes in general, but this one has a special place for me. I was 2 achievements away (the Ulduar meta achievement) from getting this drake back in 2009. I wasn’t able to get a group to finish, though I admittedly gave up for a while), until 2013. I sat so close for 4 years. Finally getting it makes it pretty special to me.
