In Search of Fortune: Nothing New

Welcome to ‘In Search of Fortune’, a monthly series where I discuss my gold goals and in-game money making strategies.

So, I may have missed a month in there somewhere. Unfortunately, it’s because it was a slow month… months. Really, isn’t the whole Shadowlands expansion a little slow, though? For me, not terribly slow in terms of gold making, I’m still hitting almost 600k per month in profit, just, well, nothing that different from the last post. There are a couple of things, though, that I wanted to highlight. So continue reading for some interesting examples flips from my mailbox and my TSM breakdown screen for the past 3 months.

From the mail box

Look at that random stuff! I particularly love the almost 3500 gold from Flask of Endless Fathoms (BFA content), that I paid less than 5g each for and the Quick Lightsphenes that sold for 1k each despite being purchased for only a couple of gold AND being old content. If you wonder if someone might buy a thing – well they might. I buy almost anything with a high enough potential profit margin or a low enough investment that losing the gold doesn’t matter. Old consumables, food, flasks, pots, gems, and enchants can all be money makers now. Keep in mind, however, these won’t sell consistently. You couldn’t make 1k Flask of Endless Fathoms and expect to sell them quickly (I wouldn’t personally make any, but if you find some in a buy scan… well).

The Totals and the Money Maker

Veiled Augment Runes, which I got exclusively from the Shadowlands covenant command table are my top selling item. They are down to 600g-800g on my server, but I still made 82k from them in the last 30 days and only from 2 characters tables. The mission tables tend to reward another 1-2k per day in gold and enchanting materials as well. At this point, I ignore all of the other missions because I’m saving anima for cosmetics, but if gold was your priority, you could get the other material bags as well for extra cash.

I still need to get around to describing my process… maybe I’ll make a video of my scan/flip system (it’s not fancy), which would be terribly boring but perhaps useful. Would anyone be interested? Let me know in the comments.
